ZICO UNICARP II – Fishing trial
We’ve got indicators to use and test features and improvements of Model UNICARP II. The main point of testing was how remote control works. If not only on strain direction, but if also transmit signal on sides from situated indicator. The next point was testing in hard natural influences. Battery consumption, and simplicity of control. The first test fishing area was at very overgrown ground, trees along the shore and high reed fields between fishing places. The others fishing teams bring their indicator´s sets, so it was great to compare our Unicarps besides other brands. What the fisherman is most interested in is the range of 150m on the shore in a very overgrown area.
On the water, where are no obstacles, is 200m and over remote distance in all directions. When changing the terrain, the height and the amount of obstacles, the signal range was rapidly going down but not in this extreme case under 50m. After that, we try the maximum range, in the free space we hold indicator in hand raised to make it more visible. On this absolute flat area, it reached a distance of 240m in this way, but we are talking about ideal conditions. Ideal, it means that a new 9V battery has been used in both components. (Indicator and Receiver)
Into second unit of Unicarp II we used the cheapest battery, and the life of poor battery was 8 fishing days. This is very satisfactory.
The tested indicators have very good protection opposite water. Not necessary open the main body when replacing batteries. So we do not impair the water resistance of alarm.
Our guys was welcome simple control, and this is a trend today. More interested is mode INCOGNITO, which you will appreciate, when a indicator transmit signal only, without sound and lights. Not all of us want to be seen at all costs.
The tested was also mode LIGHTHOUSE placed on back side of indicator, when we getting baits 100m on the water. We was surprised that we recognize our fishing area on the back way. Pulsing light helped to us hold direction at the boat on this long distance in very darkled night and fog at morning time.
Of course, although not all of the receivers on the market has a neck strap with a removable clip at the end, ensuring a comfortable fit and a certainty that you will not lose your receiver. The big advantage is really very accurate settings, and pairing as well to next available indicators, which is possible buy separately. (max 6 units)
